SEPTEMBER 2021CONSTRUCTIONBUSINESSREVIEW.COM 19We can handle changes quickly and efficiently, ensuring client success in construction projectsschedule, earning appreciation and credibility among clients. Enabling this remarkable streak of success is the company's dedicated employees. Grown from five employees, Pesado has retained its original team who has decades of experience in various construction industry sectors. Hutson mentions that many superintendents started their careers as workers or laborers and climbed through the ranks, indicating the company's diligent opportunity provided by the company helping its employees grow and succeed. "We treat our employees like a family because we know that it's essential to be successful and strive to ensure them a place where they want to work, and not just for the sake of doing it," remarks Hutson. Pesado's utmost care and commitment to employees is further visible in its emphasis on security as the highest priority. The company has employed full-time safety personnel who train employees and monitor high-risk activities. They conduct bi-weekly meetings with employees of all ranks and develop a plan to finish work with security at place. "We ensure that every worker has the same information as the safety personnel and if they think the job is not safe, they have every right to say so," explains Hutson. With such ingenious services, Pesado is perfectly positioned for any challenging project within underground utilities and the heavy construction industry. Moving ahead, the company plans to continue to grow and look for projects that challenge them. Pesado also focuses on giving back to the community and works in a mentor program for small businesses with the City of Antonio. "We strive to improve our skill sets and never fail. We want to be better and our people to better," concludes Hutson.
