It is commonly accepted in the construction industry that volumetric modular construction requires forty to fifty percent less time on site. There are significant reductions in fuel usage, waste, and carbon footprint associated with this method of construction. This is particularly beneficial for the private rental, hospitality, healthcare, and student accommodation sectors where the completed asset can be put to work much quicker than with a traditional build. As a part of the Castle Group of companies, Castle Modular has been producing high-quality bathroom pods and volumetric modular buildings with the highest standards of safety, sustainability, and quality. Castle Modular can achieve a much higher quality finish in both volumetric modular and bathroom pods than can be achieved by traditional methods through rigorous quality control which is photographed and documented at every instep of the product’s journey from one end of the factory floor to the other.

Castle Modular manufactures bespoke modular units for the construction sector at its 3,200-meter square facility in Gort, Galway. The firm has a designated experienced team that is committed to delivering high-quality prefabricated building components to suit the needs of the modern building industry. Using the most sustainable, efficient production methods available in the market today, the company provides clients with high quality, innovative off-site construction solutions.“Our in-house design team can develop a bespoke volumetric modular building that suits your projects requirements.”

States Seamus Brady, founder and managing director of Castle Modular. The project-specific bathroom pods and volumetric modular buildings for the hospitality, residential, and healthcare sectors are designed and manufactured by experienced professionals and skilled personnel in a safe, quality-controlled factory environment.

Designed as an integrated unit, Castle Modular develops modular units cohesively with all key stakeholders with service feeds, risers, and finishes approved before the structure completion. Fixed price is agreed on the specific specification and signed off drawings so all stakeholders get early cost certainty with no claims for out of sequence work that can happen with traditional methods. The rigorous QA/QC applied at the off-site manufacturing facility results in a product of a higher quality than what can be achieved with traditional construction methods. The company works in collaboration with both clients and contractors to ensure that the factory produced units can be delivered well in advance of the building programme and to contribute to the fast-track delivery of projects. The firm delivers modular units with signed RECI certification and digital records to show that all plumbing has been tested at three different hold points in the factory. Castle Modular ensures that its team is also present on-site when water and power are connected to the building to ensure that the commissioning runs smoothly.

Currently, Castle Modular is heavily invested in this sector through key staff hires, manufacturing facility expansion, and overall product development. The firm’s current live projects include a 3D modular temperature and security check hub for a logistics company, a 2D flat-panel healthcare project and a 2D flat-panel project for a pharma client. The company also has five projects on the factory floor which are for the residential and hospitality sectors. “We are looking forward to our growth forecasted for next year while seeing the whole market embracing offsite modular as the new normal,” concludes Brady.
