Enter Shane Allyne and his team at Heartland Construction, a name synonymous with excellence in commercial reroofing. With a decade of hands-on experience and a specialization in commercial roofing, Allyne’s team was well-prepared to take on the challenge. Their distinct capability to handle every project end-to-end, including design-build, logistics, and construction oversight, was instrumental in setting them apart in the competitive bidding process.
Heartland Construction commenced the project by collaborating with a mechanical contractor, executing selective demolition of the roof to unveil the existing steel deck. The team meticulously repaired and replaced outdated penetrations. They then installed the cutting-edge Carlisle thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roof system, known for durability and efficiency. The system incorporated key components, each contributing significantly to the overall effectiveness and longevity of the roof. The strategic selection of the Carlisle 725TR vapor barrier played a crucial role in controlling internal fumes and moisture, preventing premature aging of the new roofing system.
The roofing process included two layers of 2.2” ISO to maximize the R-value, a critical factor for energy efficiency and thermal regulation. R-25 insulation was applied, ensuring environmental sustainability, and the roof was given a white color to provide solar reflectiveness.
“In addition to completing the project without affecting the daily operations of buses in the facility, we prioritized the safety of the workers. This motivated them to perform at their peak and seamlessly complete the project,” says Allyne, president of Heartland Construction.
The company’s expertise shines in the COTA reroofing project, highlighting its proficiency in large-scale commercial endeavors. Its client portfolio also entails multiple multimillion-dollar projects, including the ongoing $1.5 million collaboration with Grace Enterprises, along with a $5 million project in the design phase.
Apart from reroofing, clients trust Allyne and his team for new construction roofing, metal roofing, and repair and maintenance projects, where the company specializes in asphalt shingle roofs and single-ply roofing—TPO, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM)—providing clients with up to 50 years of warranty.

In regard to its turnkey approach to project management, where it acts as the client’s single point of contact for all phases of the projects, the company deploys the design-build delivery method. This method eliminates clients’ complexities in selecting and engaging with multiple stakeholders– contractors, engineers, and architects– across diverse project stages like planning, architecture, engineering, construction, and commissioning.
Shane Allyne’s expertise and the company’s commitment to excellence have positioned Heartland Construction as a reliable name in commercial and industrial roofing space. Whether for new builds or renovations, they stand out as the preferred one-stop shop for clients aiming to bring their roofing projects to seamless and efficient completion.
