Solar skins transform solar panels into miniature billboards, enabling users to view personalized patterns or pictures. The benefits that this provides to brands are evident, but they can also appeal to customers.
Fremont, CA: Solar roofing is more common than ever before. Since 2014, the average cost of solar cells has almost halved, making them a viable choice for a higher number of people. As solar roofing continues to increase, new technological developments are emerging.
Solar Shingles
Perhaps the most prevalent growth factor in solar roofing is the growth of solar shingles. These components are a type of building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) technology, an infrastructure that serves both a structural and a solar function. With these shingles, the roof itself uses solar power instead of external panels.
Solar shingles look identical to the conventional roofing material, so they fit in with the design of the building. At present, solar shingles are more expensive than traditional panels, but further development can change that. As prices fall with new technologies, the adoption of solar shingles is likely to increase, just as solar power itself did.
