Exterior walls can be finished in various ways and with a variety of materials and techniques. Exterior wall finishes can result in significant savings for both the contractor and the building occupant, and there are numerous options for protecting against fire, extreme heat, and cold.

Fremont, CA: When an exterior wall catches fire, the fire can spread to the roof, windows, doors, and other building components, causing significant damage or destruction of the structure.

Wildfire Protection Walls

The resistance of exterior walls to fire and decay is proportional to the material used and the amount of fire ignition components in the surrounding areas.

Area Separation Walls Made of Gypsum

In multi-unit buildings, gypsum separation walls provide 2-hour fire protection and reduce noise between neighboring units. These walls can be used on four-story buildings and are compatible with standard floor-to-ceiling heights.

Vinyl Siding that is Insulated

Insulated vinyl siding is an excellent low-cost option to think about when planning your next construction project.

Tilting Walls

One of the fastest-growing industries in the United States is tilt-up wall construction. The method allows walls to be built elsewhere and transported to any project site.

Framing by OVE

Builders and contractors are beginning to use this technique, which may require special training and may reduce framing speed until they become acquainted with the system. The primary goal of Optimum Value Engineering is to maximize material usage while adhering to stringent code regulations and structural requirements.

Walls made of ICF

Insulated concrete forms are a new method that contractors use to qualify for energy credits and other types of ratings. Many home builders use the most prominent and widely used alternative: Insulating Concrete Forms (ICFs).
