Industrial buildings need specialized roofs with specialized materials and application processes that reduce long-term wear and tear and are cost-effective to install.
FREMONT, CA: Industrialists have many options for roofing systems for their projects. An industrial building's roof slope, ventilation systems, and weather conditions all play a role in choosing the correct roofing. Different roof styles have applications that provide the building's specific strengths.
The following roofing systems have different applications and advantages:
Thermoplastic polyolefin roofing (TPO): TPO is a single-ply membrane roof made of ethylene, propylene, rubber, and fiberglass and installed on flat roofs. They are known for their high durability, resistance to fire, wind, ultra violate (UV) rays, and chemical exposure. TPO is resistant to fat deposits. Restaurants and commercial kitchens use TPO to resist oil deposits from ventilation systems.
Thermoset roof membrane: Thermoset roof membrane or EPDM roofing is installed on sloped roofs by using adhesives, tape, or mechanical processes to the roof. Industrialists prefer thermoset roof membranes for their ease of installation. They are reliable roofing systems that are temperature, acid, and solvent-resistant.
