Green buildings are a useful technique for reducing greenhouse gas emissions that are rarely mentioned by the government and the private sector, and it is relatively difficult for Malaysia to have green buildings in our current situation.
FREMONT, CA: A green building has a lower impact on the climate and natural environment due to its design, construction, or operation. It refers to the structure as well as the implementation of processes that promote the efficient use of energy, water, and other resources while reducing the impact of the building on human health and the environment throughout its lifecycle, beginning with planning and continuing through design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation, and demolition.
In Malaysia today, buildings are relatively difficult to achieve. Individuals are unaware of buildings because they are focused on the price, condition of the property, and the views it offers rather than whether the property is green or even energy-efficient. While Malaysia lags far behind in terms of sustainable technology, it is heartening to see that the current administration is dedicated to recovering from the species flu pandemic, with a sustainable development agenda included in government spending for the first time.
Malaysia provides a solid foundation for the development of more green buildings throughout the country, and buildings are evaluated based on key parameters like energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, sustainable site planning and management, materials and resources used, water use efficiency, and innovation.
• Rules and regulations must be strictly enforced to ensure broader compliance with environmental standards.
• Small grants are being offered to industrial players to encourage them to use renewable energy instead of fossil fuels.
