Yanmar America selects Controlled Air as a Service and Solutions Provider.
FREMONT, CA: “Yanmar was drawn to Controlled Air for its engineering excellence and focus on delivering customer value,” says Jeff Albright, President of Yanmar America. Yanmar America has agreed to buy Controlled Air, the foremost provider of HVAC systems in Connecticut and the surrounding northeastern states. Controlled Air, a leader in energy efficiency for over four decades, has developed a heritage of technology and innovation by providing market-leading HVAC services & solutions with a strong client focus.
“With Controlled Airs full-service capabilities and Yanmars advanced technology, we will transform our energy systems business to deliver exceptional service combined with HVAC and building management solutions to customers. Furthermore, this acquisition is a natural fit to Yanmar Americas growth strategy for North America,” adds Albright.
Controlled Air is a family-owned business based in Branford, Connecticut, that offers energy-efficient commercial HVAC and temperature management solutions, including installation and service of combined heat and power (CHP) and gas heat pump (GHP) systems. Controlled Air's customer markets, which include schools, medical facilities, data centers, workplaces, and warehouses, connect nicely with Yanmar Americas' expansion strategy.
Controlled Air is a sponsoring Connecticut Green Building Council member and provides LEED Green Building Rating System accreditation support. In addition, they participate in the EPA's CHP partnership program, which offers tools and advantages for the development and installation of CHP.
Controlled Air was the first in Connecticut to develop and construct a microgrid cogeneration system for the city of Bridgeport. There was zero cost associated with the construction of the microgrid, resulting in estimated energy cost savings of 60 percent. With the introduction of a united Yanmar America and Controlled Air business, this innovation will continue as the new organization seeks to expedite the development and implementation of new technologies and expand its offerings of sustainable client solutions.
Controlled Air will serve as the center of engineering excellence for Yanmar Americas' energy systems business, bolstering the company's development efforts and expanding its solutions for North American clients.
“Controlled Air has been a distributor of Yanmar Americas products in the markets we serve, and we have developed a close partnership over the years,” says Vincent Chiocchio, President of Controlled Air. “As we looked to the future, we specifically chose to partner with Yanmar America because of the strong alignment of our culture and vision for an energy-efficient society. We have full confidence that Yanmar America is dedicated to the ongoing success of Controlled Air and our employees.”
