Dive into Luxury
Oasis Pools Ltd

Owning a home is a luxury and having one equipped with a pool adds an extra layer of extravagance. However, the pools themselves are quite diverse in their construction. There are three predominant in-ground pool types to choose from—the concrete pool, the vinyl liner pool, and the fiberglass single-piece pool.

“Oasis Pools Ltd stands out as an industry leader in crafting custom concrete pools, boasting unparalleled advantages in the industry. The foremost benefit lies in the limitless design flexibility, allowing the realization of any concept drawn on paper or modelled on a computer,” says Greg Selinger, co-owner of Oasis Pool Ltd.

The company stands out in the industry due to its cutting-edge technical prowess and ongoing commitment to innovation. It operates in varying climatic conditions and excels in serving clientele that seek global design inspirations. Oasis’ role is to transform these ideas into reality while adapting to the challenges of the harsh Canadian climate. Notably, Oasis offers a 10-year warranty on all construction work, regardless of complexity, and engages in various construction aspects, from precast work and water features to fire features and commercial grade mechanical and control systems.

The first step in its construction process involves creating a detailed computer-aided design (CAD) model, breaking down the project into its smallest details, reconstructing it, estimating costs, and, if needed, involving an in-house engineer for complexities. Following back-and-forth negotiations and reaching a tentative agreement, the permit process begins. Oasis uses a variety of exotic materials such as mosaic tile, natural stone, polished terrazzo, glass fibre reinforced concrete, and various types of plaster in its pool designs, creating a truly unique result each time.

“Our pools stand out for their incomparable durability, with shells constructed using solid steel reinforcement and shotcrete, ensuring they are robust structures designed to last for a century,” says Selinger.

Unlike kit-based products, every pool is one-of-a-kind, offering customers unparalleled design flexibility. While this level of customization may come with a higher cost, the value is significant for those willing to invest in a pool that reflects their individual taste and preferences.

In one notable project, a Burlington resident approached Oasis with a 50-year-old pool that had unconventional fiberglass walls and was experiencing leaks. The client expressed a desire to update and enhance the pool, allocating a substantial budget of around $300,000 for the reconstruction job.

The wish list included installing an automatic cover, structural rehabilitation, beach entry steps, a platform with rectangular steps, bar stools, custom tile work, and integrating water and fire features into an existing stone wall. Despite multiple back-and-forths, including disruptions from the coronavirus, Oasis worked closely with the client, completing the impressive transformation in a matter of months.

In another project example, it collaborated with a prominent landscape company in Oakville, Ontario. The client provided detailed renderings and a design for a hundred-foot-long freeform pool, a beach entry, a vanishing edge hot tub, and a half-million-dollar water slide. The collaboration involved iterative adjustments based on computer modelling, leading to the generation of a quotation. Oasis worked closely with the client throughout the project. These two approaches summarize the two different ways it assists clients.

Established in 1956, Oasis’s 70 years of experience hinge on owner involvement and a hands-on approach toward clients. Clients purchasing a pool gain direct access to the owner’s personal contact information, emphasizing accessibility and a commitment to quality.

The owners, actively engaged in the business, personally oversee all aspects of the construction process, including hands-on involvement in tasks such as applying finishing touches to features like plaster finishes. This dedication sets Oasis apart, emphasizing its customer-centric approach and commitment to quality. In the face of increasing complexity, the company remains at the forefront of innovation, swiftly adopting and applying global innovations. The longevity of the business, coupled with a commitment to technical innovation and active owner involvement, has positioned Oasis as a dynamic player in the ever-evolving pool industry.
