Driven by a mission to be recognized as an unparalleled resource within the construction industry, Speedy delivers safe, efficient concrete cutting and drilling solutions to its clients. Speedy’s success is built upon a promise to exceed its customers’ expectations, from both a safety and a performance perspective. Barna notes, “As we approach our 35 year anniversary, we are pivoting that vision to focus even more to deliver the ‘Ultimate Customer Experience.’ We are drilling down even further to determine exactly what that means to every client, understanding that it may not only be different for each company, but may also differ from project to project within companies driven by their clients’ needs and expectations."
Speedy’s capabilities were truly evident while completing the Bob Graham Sunshine Skyway Bridge project. The company performed over $2.5 million in concrete cutting and core drilling a project involving the reinforcement of the segmented precast piers. Among the many challenges they had to overcome was core drilling and extracting more than 1,200 holes, 7’-15’ deep and 128 holes 62’ in depth. The company’s expert team accomplished this difficult feat while working 80’ below the bridge deck, within the piers, in a space smaller than a typical minivan.
The company further demonstrated its capabilities on yet another project completed at a major recycling plant in Doral, Florida. Their client had taken a large shredding machine offline for replacement which ceased processing operations in a large portion of its facility. The competitor they had originally hired started their work, had performance issues, told the client there were too many difficulties they couldn’t overcome, and walked off the project, leaving the customer with zero solutions. Speedy came to the rescue and provided them with several possible options to overcome the difficulties in drilling out the existing 6’ deep anchor bolts, made even worse by the failed efforts of the previous company. Within 24 hours, Speedy pulled in equipment resources from several offices, had multiple crews drilling around the clock in 8-hour shifts, and completed the project. “When our competitors say, ‘This cannot be done,’ Speedy says, ‘This is how we are going to get it done for you!” quips Gunther.
