Standard Structures, Inc. combines years of engineering experience and industry knowledge to provide commercial, industrial, and agricultural metal buildings developed by contractors for contractors as well as the general public.

“Following the philosophy to build what the customer wants, we design our metal buildings according to customer plans, rather than limiting them to a preset list of buildings,” says Matthew Evans, VP of Standard Structures.

Standard Structures uses their combined experience from each department to create structures with an erector-friendly mindset. Features like cable bracing assembled and ready to install, thicker than industry standard flanges to add extra rigidity to mainframes aiding in the steel erection process, Standard Structures ensures that the buildings are easier and safer to assemble.

Initially focused on large-scale dairy and agricultural buildings and facilities, Standard Structures has branched into most areas of modern construction including commercial, industrial, educational, churches, and entertainment spaces. Projects range in scale from cabins on a hunting ranch to industrial buildings with 40-ton cranes and large spans.

Some examples of Standard Structures’ projects include the Stonewall County Retirement Home, which sports a very complex roof framing structure that allows for a completely open lobby area, and three additional wings. Another successful project is the well-known Cowboy Junction Church in Hobbs, New Mexico, which is a large and complex worship location that houses many people.

Standard Structures has worked on projects across the Texas Panhandle, Kansas, Idaho, California, and Arizona. Working with several project directors and contractors, Standard Structures faces a number of challenges in the metal construction space.

“We face everything from increasing standards for building and energy codes to increased testing and inspection requirements of our fabricated components. We adhere to strict quality standards and ensure that our buildings are up to code,” says Evans.

Standard Structures does business with large corporations, contractors, and even Do-it-yourselfers––no job is too large or too small. Whether a customer wants to buy a bag of screws, needs individual building components, or wants to sit down with a salesperson and talk about specs for a half-million-dollar steel building, Standard Structures treats each customer the same because they’re all important.

Customers can visit either of the Standard Structures’s locations in Odessa or New Deal to buy everything they need to put up a building. They can also connect with a salesperson to discuss the project’s layout and timeline and get quotes for their next project in person, by phone, or by email. Approved projects then move from the sales department to Standard Structures’s in-house engineering and detailing staff, and then directly to the shop. Nothing is contracted out.

Standard Structures also offers a wide range of high-quality, customizable components, including several panel profiles from traditional screw-down type panels, concealed fastener standing seam and architectural options. Stock and custom trim with two different paint systems and 30+ colors, stock or run-to-order purlins, hardware, and metal building accessories. Everything an experienced contractor or savvy DIYer might need to perform their own fabrication of a fence, carport, or onsite weld-up building.

Mainframes, secondary framing, panels, and trim are all produced in-house, and buildings are shipped to the final job site by Standard Structures’ own trucks. Customers can call and ask questions or get any specific details explained regarding the erection of the building, the final exterior, and warranties.

Since 1995, Standard Structures has been known for producing premium metal buildings and components. The company aims to uphold its rich legacy and continue doing what it does best–providing metal buildings that are designed just right for clients.
