Thank you for Subscribing to Construction Business Review Weekly Brief
Wolkow Braker traces its roots back five generations to Max Wolkowitz, the founder of Brooklyn Roofing. In 1944, his son Isidore opened Wolkow Braker Roofing Corp. and ran the business until his two sons, Gerald and Morty, took over. Gerald expanded the company and worked until the 2012. Gerald’s son Felix also ran the company during this time. Today, the reins have been passed on to Felix’ son, Scott Wolkowitz—president and CEO—who represents the fifth generation of the Wolkowitz family at Wolkow Braker.
The wealth of knowledge passed down by generations, combined with Wolkow Braker’s grasp of modern roofing techniques, helps the company overcome every commercial and residential roofing challenge. From waterproofing to metal paneling and roofing, including interior waterproofing and roof maintenance, the team can tackle all unique roofing needs with fine workmanship to extend the lifespan of roofs.
Even when clients face challenges with cost fluctuation on materials and supply chain issues, Wolkow Braker’s procurement and logistics team ensures all roofing shipments are transported on time and within budget, giving clients peace of mind with scheduled project completion.
Every employee, from top leadership to the foremen, is treated as an integral member of the Wolkow Braker family.
Wolkow Braker’s elite estimating team maintains a clear line of communication with clients to discuss project estimations, including challenges, requirements, and budget constraints, to come up with the best roofing solutions. The project manager finalizes all the elements and data needed for the project, after which the superintendent and the crew get the installation done effectively. In every step, Wolkow Braker’s clients are kept in the loop, which increases customer satisfaction.
“At Wolkow Braker, we treat clients like our family. We are always just one call away to deliver a service that caters to all their needs, be it budget, time, warranty, or any other expectation,” shares Scott Wolkowitz.
Wolkow Braker stays current on advances in roofing techniques and technology. For instance, when operating on roofs in New York City, the Wolkow Braker team must factor in the potential for higher wind gusts. They enhance roof tolerance by applying a specialized inverted membrane roof system (IRMA) that protects the surface from extreme weather conditions and temperature changes. For a client experiencing a similar challenge, the team inspected the site and installed a budget-friendly paver Lok-Down System made of concrete. This helped the roof resist wind uplift.
From interior and exterior waterproofing, to metal paneling, roofing, and roof maintenance, the team tackles all unique roofing needs with fine workmanship and provides a quality installation.
Wolkow Braker is an organization with a growth mindset, constantly developing new ideas and refining old ones to create strong, eco-friendly roofs. It recently grew in both size and capacity when it acquired L. Martone & Sons Roofing in January 2021. This acquisition helped Wolkow Braker expand its reach and access new markets.
As Wolkow Braker embarks on its growth mission, building owners, real-estate developers, and large construction management companies can have confidence that their roofing services are reliable, dependable, and durable!
